Investigation launched into plane damage
12.10.07
Police are investigating criminal damage to an aircraft at Bristol Airport. It has been reported this morning that officers were called to an Air France plane on Wednesday after concerns were raised that it had been tampered with.
A spokesman for the airport said that there had been no breach of security and that the police are investigating. An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman added: 'A case of criminal damage was reported by the plane's captain and we are investigating. Officers searched the plane and found it to be safe. There is no suggestion that security has been breached.'
Both statements imply that someone with security clearance damaged the plane. We assume the area in which it was parked is covered by security cameras, so it ought to be a quick investigation.
