Bristol Airport boss says higher rail fares will boost domestic flights

A director at Bristol Airport says that last week's above-inflation increase in rail fares will see more people using domestic flights. Train passengers saw double-figure price rises across much of the network on Wednesday, prompting an angry reaction from consumer groups.
Some of the biggest increases were seen on Southeastern Railway services to London, with rises of up to 14.5%. Commenting on the dramatic price rises, Bristol Airport's aviation development director Tony Hallwood said that an inevitable consequence would be increased demand for domestic flights.
