Council objects to airport car park expansion plans
26.10.09
North Somerset councillors from the west area committee, consulted on the full planning application to expand Bristol Airport, have expressed opposition to any plans to extend car parks onto greenbelt land in the south as part of its proposed expansion.
The councillors do not have the power to approve or reject the proposal, but they listed key concerns that will be passed on to the south area committee, who will make the decision. In addition to concerns over the car park, they also called for improved infrastructure and new transport links to be in place before the airport's expansion goes ahead, echoing the concerns of north and central area committees.
