Busy month for airport bus
26.06.08
Last month was the busiest ever for the coach service between Temple Meads station and Bristol Airport. More than 47,000 passengers used the Flyer bus in May - up 27 percent on the same month last year.
The figures mean that a total of 8 percent of airport passengers used the service in May. Growth in public transport use is now outstripping the rise in passengers flying from Bristol Airport.
In 2007, the coach service carried 440,000 passengers. However, the figure is expected to pass the 500,000 mark this year. The drop in people using their own cars and parking at the airport is a key part in its drive to improve its green credentials.
