New walkway opening celebrates 80th birthday

Bristol Airport will celebrate its 80th birthday with the opening of a new walkway this week. The 450m walkway cost £8m and connects the terminal to 8 new boarding gates that will allow passengers to walk to and from their aircraft instead of being driven by bus. The walkway will also improve customer service, allow better priority boarding and reduce emissions from airport vehicles.
The walkway has taken 12 months to construct. There will be an official opening ceremony for the walkway on Friday at 10:30, with a VIP audience, representing businesses, tourism organisations and local communities.
