Airport to offer pet flights
25.06.09
A new Animal Reception Centre at Bristol Airport is to open next week (July 1). It will enable dog and cat owner to fly their pets in and out of the airport.
Animals with a Pet Passport are allowed to enter the UK without going through the statutory 6 months quarantine. However, facilities are required at the airport to allow checks to be carried out on pets before and after their flight.
Next week Bristol Airport will become only the fourth hub in the UK with these facilities (following Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester). A spokesman said that the move will reduce road journeys for local dog and cat owners looking to transport their animals overseas.
