Airport to launch £5 security fast lane
22.07.08
Bristol Airport passengers will soon be able to avoid long security queues and spend more time in the departure lounge, the Western Mercury reports. The hub is launching a new paid for security screening fast lane service, called Fly Thru, on August 5.
Passengers who purchase a Fly Thru ticket - for £5 a person - will be able to go straight from check-in to a special security search area where they will be scanned using an x-ray machine as normal. The tickets will be available in advance through www.bristolairport.co.uk or from kiosks on the day.
The service seems to be similar to the Liverpool Airport fast lane, which costs £2 per person and has resulted in a lot of criticism for the airport, both from those using it and from those who claim they have to wait longer since it was introduced. £5 seems a lot, but then Bristol Airport does charge £1 to use a luggage trolley.
