20.03.09
Passengers at Bristol Airport were down 26.2% in February. The airport said that the result was 'significantly impacted' by prolonged closure periods due to heavy snowfall in early February. It was was also hit by a reduction in easyJet's flights for the winter.
Domestic traffic was 23.3% lower, primarily due to reduced easyJet frequencies. International traffic dropped by 24.6%, due to easyJet’s winter capacity cuts, partially offset by higher Lufthansa passengers.
In the 12 months to the end of February the airport had 6.05m passengers, up 1.1% on the previous 12 month period. Charter passengers were down 14.5% (1.2m), domestic passengers down 10.3% (1.1m) and scheduled passengers up 11.7% (3.7m).
