Drugs mule had swallowed 63 packets of cocaine

19.07.11

A drugs mule who was stopped at Bristol Airport had swallowed 63 packets of cocaine in an attempt to smuggle the drug in to the UK, a court has heard. Izuchukwu Nwafor was stopped after he got off a flight from Brussels to Bristol on July 11. The dual British and Nigerian national admitted a charge of drug smuggling at Uxbridge Magistrates Court yesterday.

The 36-year-old was stopped by UK Border Agency officers at Bristol Airport after travelling from Lagos in Nigeria via Brussels. He was questioned at passport control, arrested as officers suspected he had swallowed drugs and moved to a detention centre near Heathrow. After several days he was found to have swallowed 63 packages that contained cocaine. He will be sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court on August 26.
