Spot checks on taxis and busses used by off airport car parks taking people to Bristol Airport revealed that one in four vehicles were not fit to be on the road, a joint crackdown revealed.
Checks were made in a joint operation by police, council and government agencies to ensure vehicles being used by a variety of taxi and off-site car parks for transporting passengers to and from the airport, were correctly licensed and in a safe condition. Checks were also made to ensure that individuals were not fraudulently claiming benefits while working as taxis drivers.
