Continental passengers use US connections
18.01.09
A large proportion of passengers taking Continental Airlines' flights from Bristol Airport to New York are taking advantage of the US airline's connecting services to destinations throughout America.
Since its launch in May 2005, Continental has carried more than 250,000 people on the service. And the airport has revealed that around 50% of those taking the flights have then flown on to a destination beyond New York, making use of Continental's network of flights across the USA, Canada and Latin America.
Shaun Browne, the airport's aviation director, said: 'Continental's service doesn't just make New York accessible, it puts destinations across North and South America within reach of south-west passengers, without the hassle of travelling to airports outside the region.'
Last year Orlando was the most popular final destination, followed by Las Vegas, Boston, San Francisco and Tampa for leisure passengers. Onward connections to Houston were the most useful for business travellers, followed by Chicago, Indianapolis, Atlanta and Cleveland.
