Roadworks suspended after traffic chaos
13.04.11
Roadworks on the A38 near Bristol Airport were suspended yesterday because of the traffic chaos being caused. Resurfacing work on the road at Lulsgate began on Monday with traffic managed by ‘stop’ and ‘go' boards, but this did not prove an effective form of traffic management.
A spokesman for North Somerset Council said yesterday that the lanes on the road would be fully reopened once the newly-laid surface had cooled. Different options would then be investigate on how best to complete the £190,000 scheme, which also includes work at Downside Road and West Lane junctions and had been due to continue until Friday.
