Four companies bid for duty free franchise
08.07.09
Bristol Airport has revealed that four retailers have submitted bids to operate its duty-free concession following its call for expressions of interest in April. An airport spokesperson told DFNIonline: ‘The tender process is progressing well, with four of the main duty-free operators expressing an interest. We expect to announce which bid has been successful in September or October.'
‘We will be working with the successful bidder to develop a new state-of-the-art walk-through duty-free shop, creating a bigger anchor retail outlet in the departure lounge.’ The Nuance Group has managed the duty-free concession at the airport for the last 10 years, but the new contract is set to begin on November 1.
