Flights hit by Greek quake
10.06.08
Hundreds of holiday makers were stranded after an earthquake in Greece on Sunday. Flights from Kefalonia to Bristol Airport were delayed by the disaster, with one flight from the Greek island taking off for five hours late and departing flights from Bristol delayed by between two and five hours before taking off.
The delays were due to Kefalonia Airport being temporarily closed after the 6.5 magnitude earthquake, due to damage to its communications equipment. Bristol airport authorities said that they expected the flights to be back to full operating capacity today.
