Another emergency landing
09.05.08
Emergency services rushed to Bristol Airport yesterday after an plane suffered landing gear problems. The incident came in the same week that another plane made an emergency landing at the hub.
The Manx2 flight from the Isle of Man to Gloucester was diverted to Bristol after problems were reported with its landing gear. Some 15 fire crews from Brislington, Bedminster, Temple Back and Southmead were put on standby at Bristol Airport just after 15:30 yesterday.
However, the plane managed to land safely at 15:40 and the emergency services were stood down. None of the 18 passengers on board the 19-seater Metroliner plane were injured. They were transferred to Gloucester by bus. The plane was thoroughly checked before going back into service.
