Work starts on Western Walkway
01.07.09
Work is under way on the Western Walkway development project that will improve services for airlines and passengers at Bristol airport. The £7.5m scheme will include a new 450-metre walkway to provide facilities for passengers with reduced mobility. Passengers will also be able to walk to 8 new embarkation zones (gates) without using buses.
Bristol Airport head of development Andrew Goodenough said: 'The new walkway will provide an improved experience for passengers, providing direct covered access between aircraft and the terminal. It represents a significant investment and demonstrates our commitment to building an airport the south-west can be proud of.'
